Floral Paradise

Tropical prints + pops of pink + neutral booties = my ideal outfit for al fresco happy hour meals on summer evenings. I loved this dress from the moment I saw it because the colors brightened my mood, the tropical print makes me think of traveling, and the pleated skirt gives the dress a playful swing when walking. I'm never one to shy from color, thus I'd encourage everyone to experiment with highlighter colors this summer for a fun twist. Now I want a pina colada!

DIY: Something For The Sunnies

I have a habit of buying cheap sunglasses that evidently always get lost or broken. While I do cherish my nicer pairs, it would still be great to have an easy way to keep track of all my sunnies. Enter the sunglass display below. I think it makes a lovely closet display especially because you can design it to your liking. Personally, I would hunt for a great vintage frame and from there I would keep it simple because I have some bright and patterned shades.

I'll take you through the steps so you can craft at home.

First, You will need:
* steel wire
* screw eyes
* tape measure
* ice pick
* scissors
* pencil

1. Figure out the general layout and how many frames per wire you are going to have.
2. Measure where to make the first hole and mark with a pencil.

3. Use the ice pick to create a small hole.
4. Twist the screw eye into the hole until it’s in place.

5. Secure the wire by twisting around the screw eye.
6. Pull the wire so that it’s very taut and secure on the other end.

7. Hang sunglasses and display away!

I can't wait to try this as a summer project! Do you have a better way to organize your sunnies?

Shady Lady

I'm totally on board with the round framed sunnies trend. It is a sure-fire way to achieve an Ã¼ber cool vibe.

Springtime Stella

I am digging these Stella McCartney spring 2012 ad campaign prints. Natalia Vodianova looks jaw-droppingly stunning amist the cartoon flowers. I also can't help but picture Gwyneth Paltrow as she rocked (and I mean rocked!) the dress in the second print ad. And, can I have those sunnies in the third ad, pretty please!?

Can you tell that I'm dying for spring?

Here Comes the Sun

I am in warmer weather for most of Christmas break (Arizona and California) so I am ready for some fun in the sun! To go along with that fun I need the right accessory. Right now I am coveting these surfer-girl shades by Karen Walker...
