Tory Burch Spring 2014 Snapshots + Highlights

Well, New York Fashion Week is over & London Fashion Week is starting. It really should be called fashion month, not fashion week. Below are a few lovely photographs from the Tory Burch show as well as some of my favorite links from this week.

Tory said this of her show: "The easy glamour of the French Riviera in the late 1960s - inspired by Romy Schneider's character in La Piscine - mixed with garden elements. Blueprint, botanical, lattice, Queen Anne's lace and folly prints are paired with cleaner silhouettes and proportions in a fresh palette of green, white and coral."

Happy NYFW + New Kate Spade Signature Bag + Highlights

Happy Friday and happy New York Fashion Week everyone! It's still scorching hot in Los Angeles but this Kate Spade look is giving me major fall wardrobe inspiration for when the temperatures drop.

Plus, Kate Spade just released their new signature bag - the 2 Park Avenue Beau. Goodness, I majorly have my eye on it. The leopard style in the lookbook photo below is my ultimate favorite in the collection but because of its price point I'm going for the macchiato/black version. It's equally classic, I think.

See below for a few links I liked this week...

Hello, Yellow: Tory Burch Spring 2013 Ready-to-Wear Collection

An in-depth look at Tory Burch's Spring 2013 Ready-to-Wear Collection:

What inspired Spring 2013?
The American prep remix and the idea of a stylish magpie who travels the world and picks up unique and beautiful things wherever she goes. When she gets back, she pairs them with her classic silhouettes and shapes.

What look were you wearing on the runway?
I wore our blouse and skirt in our wheat print from the collection. Yellow and this wheat motif are big for us for spring - they're a bright and optimistic message.

What are some of your other favorite looks?
We took tie-dye - this humble and traditionally bohemian fabric - and created structured silhouettes, like a polo dress. It epitomizes that prep remix. The tie-dye on the runway was hand-dyed by women artisans we commissioned in Guinea.

And accessories?
This is a great way to tap into the spirit of spring - everything feels like it was picked up in a bazaar or market... We detailed bags, shoes, and jewelry with mirror-work, cowrie shells, embroidery and straw.

The trends of the collections:

Hello, Yellow: The color of the season? Fresh, cheerful, sun-kissed yellow.

Going with the Grain: Wheat - the ultimate symbol of spring and optimism.

Fit to be Tie-Dyed: A cool reinterpretation of the beautiful batik (these are hand-gyed by women artists in Guinea).

Fill in the Blanc: White is the perfect canvas to showcase bold, artisanal details and accessories.

Traveler's Check: A touch of the far (and not-so far) flung gives classic silhouettes a bohemian charm.
