Gal Meets Glam's Ladylike Office Space

I'm in full grad school/work mode this week. Struggles! Luckily, I love my work space at home. It is clean, inviting, and friendly with details that match some of those seen in Julia Engel's (of Gal Meets Glam) office space. My favorite parts of her space are the gallery wall and the bookshelf next to her desk. I love having shelf space to display books and different things I've collected over the years. Also, there is no better way to stay organized.

Take a peak at the rest of her charming San Francisco home, here.

Thursday Organization

I get excited to pick up Vogue, Elle, Nylon, and C Magazine (to name a few) every month to catch up on the world of fashion and beauty. I always save my favorite issues but I get stuck when trying to find space for them. So, I'm loving the magazine organization ideas below. How cute would it be to replicate the first look in an office or breakfast nook?

Happy organized Thursday!

DIY: Something For The Sunnies

I have a habit of buying cheap sunglasses that evidently always get lost or broken. While I do cherish my nicer pairs, it would still be great to have an easy way to keep track of all my sunnies. Enter the sunglass display below. I think it makes a lovely closet display especially because you can design it to your liking. Personally, I would hunt for a great vintage frame and from there I would keep it simple because I have some bright and patterned shades.

I'll take you through the steps so you can craft at home.

First, You will need:
* steel wire
* screw eyes
* tape measure
* ice pick
* scissors
* pencil

1. Figure out the general layout and how many frames per wire you are going to have.
2. Measure where to make the first hole and mark with a pencil.

3. Use the ice pick to create a small hole.
4. Twist the screw eye into the hole until it’s in place.

5. Secure the wire by twisting around the screw eye.
6. Pull the wire so that it’s very taut and secure on the other end.

7. Hang sunglasses and display away!

I can't wait to try this as a summer project! Do you have a better way to organize your sunnies?

Hoarder?

I would never say that I am a hoarder but I do have a tendency to collect and to hold on to anything and everything sentimental. I admit, that with a few years under my belt, I have become better about not saving every nic nac and all the olds and ends of my life. Moving every year of college has also forced me to be more selective with my "stuff." However, there is nothing wrong with having a handful of lovely or meaningful collections. I sure have a few!

Office Space

In the spirit of yesterday's post and with decorating my new apartment on my mind, I've been day dreaming about setting up my desk area in my new room. Maybe I'll try a little something new! These images are getting my creative juices flowing until move in day. To me, organization is key so you can bet my belongings will be categorized by item, color, or size. (I recently got MAJOR inspiration from Lauren Conrad's instagram, check it out! And follow me on Instagram for updates on my new apartment, username: jilliana5590)

Happy office organized Tuesday!
