Covetable Coffee Table Books

The quickest way to freshen up a living space, a corner of a room, or a bedside table is to pick up a new coffee table book. Coffee table books complete any and every living space and are, in my opinion, one of the most interesting collections to have. My collection is complete with coffee table books about fashion, photography, art, interior design, architecture, cooking, travel, and iconic figures. I am always growing my collection (I just snatched up Great Houses of the South & 100 Unforgettable Dresses) and expanding it to flow along with my evolving taste. Below are a few of the coffee table books I'm currently coveting... I must complete my Gypset set (I already have Gypset Style)!

P.S. a coffee table book hunting hint: if you see a book in a store you must have, first check the Amazon price because it is usually cheaper!

Vogue Weddings

Two weekends ago I went to Boulder, CO for my best friend's engagement party. It was such a beautiful weekend and as such I have been buzzing with wedding excitement ever since. What better thing to deepen my excitement than Vogue's new book Vogue Weddings: Brides, Dresses, Designers. Say hello to the new bridal bible as it features almost 400 photographs of weddings that have appeared in Vogue throughout the ages! I'm literally dying (& adding this to my Christmas list immediately)!

The Little Black Jacket

The little black jacket has been a quintessential part of Chanel ever since Coco Chanel designed one herself in the 50s.

Karl Lagerfeld has reinvented the jacket time and time again which explains why he is publishing a book (out this fall) about the jacket. The book is set to be full of beautiful photographs of models and celebrities wearing different black Chanel jackets. You can bet this book will be added to my coffee table book collection!

Take a peak at this video which shows the step-by-step process of creating the iconic black jacket. Lagerfeld calls the jacket "one of the symbols that defines the style of Chanel." This depiction of the jacket's creation, from a sketch by Lagerfeld to the exquisite yet expensive final product, shows you just how special the little black jacket is.

Mirror Mirror on the Wall?

What makes each of these spaces irresistible? The mirrored pieces, of course! They add a feminine elegance to each room.

I mentioned earlier that I just got a mirrored dresser in my room in Phoenix... well I had to mention it again because I am in love with it.

Sitting pretty on my dresser is an antique initialed vase that is always full of pink roses, two coffee table books (In Vogue: The Illustrated History of the Worlds Most Famous Fashion Magazine and Los Angeles, Portrait of a City), and a picture frame holding a photograph of me and my sister.

How would you dress up your mirrored countertop?

All in all, my thoughts are on par with interior design trends these days, mirrors should not be limited to walls.
