Sea Island: Secretly Tropical

Unless you've been there, you probably don't know how tropical the coast of Georgia is. I've been lucky enough to spend a great amount of time up and down the Georgia coast so I know how humid, balmy, and tropical the beach towns can be (and how genuine the people in them are!). However, Sea Island isn't the only place this editorial reminds me of... it also makes me reminiscent of my family trip to the Florida Keys last Christmas, so I just had to share!

The floral fashion featured in this editorial is right up my alley too. So, all in all, these gorgeous photographs make me even more ready for my trip to Sea Island (and then Charleston) tomorrow!

Summer in January

Temperatures are rising this weekend! My excited eye was caught by this Vogue Brazil editorial featuring Brazil's own beauty Gracie Carvalho. The bold candy-colored prints from Lanvin, Miu Miu, and Dolce and Gabbana have me at the edge of my seat, ready to sprint out the door into the warmth of the sunshine.

Are you feeling summer-festive (in January) with me!?

Mucho Aloha: Mara Hoffman Spring 2013 Ready-to-Wear Collection

While New York Fashion Week can be serious, glamorous, and intimidating, it can also be playful, exciting, and relatable. Yes, most of us can't relate to those who sit in the front row at runway shows but many of us can relate to the collections that are actually wearable. This year, I think few collections are more wearable than Mara Hoffman's. I would wear each and every piece to a dinner party, for a night out on the town, to a summer soirée, or on a tropical vacation.

Happy (end-of-summer soirée) weekend, fashion fans!

Tropic Thunder

Summer sure is heatin' up as is my love of tropical prints! This spring I splurged on a Zimmermann Hawaiian print bikini and I'm dying to add another knockout tropical piece to my summer wardrobe.

My eyes are peeled for pineapples, palm trees, and plumerias!
